Why did I choose to do research?

Growing up I used to dread reading anything! Even in college as an undergrad, I hated reading. That all changed when I took my Motor Behavior course Sophomore year, where I had a professor who opened my eyes to the world of research. I remember him walking around the classroom while lecturing asking us questions about what we would do in different areas of our life only to be told we were wrong! For example, he would ask us how would we get a team to become better free throw shooters. Our answers were all shot more free throws, but he pointed out that several studies indicated that we should not be doing that! Instead, we should be simulating the game experience and shooting free throws only when necessary in a game-like scenario! From that point on, I have been infatuated with research and figuring out what is happening, why it is happening, and what it means to the experience/environment.
